Watermarks

This blog begins to give some good feedbacks. First of all, the poll about the model that you wish to see in GUN TACTYX 2 is going to find its winner, in a few days, between "The Trenches" and "The Specialists".

Then, thanks to a comment by Robert, I realized that the Ogre screenshots look better than APOCALYX also because there is an appealing watermark attached. The suggestion was about an atomic mushroom, so I unchained my poor graphic capabilities to produce the front-image of the blog, a powered-by button and a watermark. You are going to see this watermark superimposed on the demos in the next release of the engine.

If you want to draw a better watermark and post it, I'll be very happy to open a new poll to choose among the best ones.

On a very personal note Leo, I am not in favor of watermarks and I'd rather admire your work as crisp and clean as possible, so while I have no saying in it, I beg you not to put watermarks in the demos or leave us a version without them, pleeeeeeeease.

I understand you request, so I think to proceed this way: the engine will show the watermark, but I'll add a LUA function, let's say hideWatermark(), to hide it. So my demos will show the watermark, but you can disable it in your own demos or games.

I think to do the same with the annoying initial sphash screen... yes, the one where I appear :)
To hide it is more difficult because it is shown before any LUA script is executed, but I'll try.

Excellent Leo, a watermark would not do me any good in my project and would sort of make me to stay with the current version. Regarding the splash screen, I was thinking of merging your logo and one of my own as a splash screen and no worries, you will always be credited for the great work you are doing for the community =) !!
To hide the splash screen you might make an entry in the INI file that Apocalyx already creates to set the screen resolution thingy.

Thank you very much! Thanks also for the suggestion.
