Hey, MekaWars looks really cool! Inspired by Jrobots, I considered at one point trying to make some kind of space fleet battle programming game like this, but I'm not that dedicated.
Any idea when you'll have an alpha or beta for people to try out? I can't wait to try my hand at coding up some space fleet strategies.

Thank you! We are trying to make it cool as it looks :)

It's a long way from Jrobots to MekaWars that moves through aborted projects and the interesting Gun-Tactyx. Let's say that MekaWars will be part of a series, together with Gun-Tactyx-2, Soccer-Tactyx and maybe Racing-Tactyx, but only MekaWars is currently in development.

The simulator performing single units is almost complete, but a 3D viewer is still in development. The units-sim is needed by MekaWars-Online. After the 3D viewer, I'll develop the starships-sim that is needed by MekaWars-Offline.
While MW-Online is more like "Ogame meets Jrobots", MW-Offline is the natural evolution of Jrobots.
I'll give more details in future posts, but if you are really interested, I can provide a limited edition of the sim with the simple 2D viewer, so you can already try to harvest resources and combat enemy fighters.
I am indeed really interested--I'd love to try out whatever you've got at the moment.

I can send to you the 2D very-reduced version used for the radar-like screenshots. The 3D release will take more to complete. Since I don't want to release the sim to the public yet, send the request by email at "tetractys (at) users (dot) sf (dot) net".
The 2D viewer and its sim are very reduced in functionalities (even is size!) but you can try to program two kind of units, harvesters and fighters through a reduced set of functions.
Please, send any comment, suggestion or constructive criticism, so I can change direction or improve some aspects of the game before the final release.
Thank you for your interest!
