The description of GUIs included in APOCALYX continues. Now it’s the time of GLGooey, an interesting GUI rendered in the OpenGL window. You can see it at work executing the “Gui” demo included in DemoPack2.
This library defines several components, covering from buttons and lists, to combos and check boxes, to progress bars and sliders, and you can create and show them in the in-game window. Another advantage of this library is the easy to use skin manager. In practice, an APOCALYX user can set up dialog boxes is his applications and populate them with the necessary components, choosing in a long list of different ones.
Other GUIs with similar characteristics are available, of course, but GLGooey was easier to embed in the engine and revealed also very interesting hidden capabilities.
